FEATURES

A smelting furnace for the carbon-reduction recycling of valuable metals, designed to recover copper and precious metals from incineration residues of waste circuit boards, as well as metal oxides contained in byproducts from stainless steel manufacturing processes.

Equipment Features
  • By submerging an electrode in molten slag, highly efficient melting is achieved through the Joule heat generated directly within the slag.
  • Complete melting of the feedstock inside the furnace allows for easy separation of the metal and slag.
Examples of Use
  • Incineration residues from electronic circuit boards (gold, silver, copper, lead, tin, etc.)
  • Various types of spent catalysts (white metal-based, vanadium, molybdenum, etc.)
  • Dust from metal melting furnaces and pickling and neutralization sludge (stainless steel-based)
  • Separation of Metal-Containing Slag from Molten Metal (Non-Ferrous Smelting Slag, etc.)
  • Incineration residue obtained by removing the resin content (combustible fraction) from waste circuit boards using existing incinerators or similar facilities
  • Briquetted galvanizing sludge, etc.

Examples of Metal Reduction Reactions

  • Nickel: NiO + C → Ni + CO
  • Chromium: Cr₂O₃ + 3C → 2Cr + 3CO
  • Iron: FeO + C → Fe + CO
  • Iron: Fe₂O₃ + 3C → 2Fe + 3CO
  • Manganese: MnO + C → Mn + CO
The reduction reaction described above proceeds inside the furnace, resulting in the recovery of metal from the oxide feedstock.
