At a time when calls for the preservation of the global environment are growing, our company designs and manufactures raw material manufacturing equipment for secondary batteries, which are becoming increasingly common worldwide. We feel a sense of social fulfillment in our work, playing a part in the energy transition. To manufacture and deliver raw material manufacturing equipment, we conduct tests to acquire basic data, incorporate that data into the design, and then test run the equipment after it has been manufactured to confirm its performance. Our company has a single person in charge of all of these tasks under the guidance of a supervisor, with the aim of quickly improving the technical skills of our designers. By experiencing the entire process from the start of equipment design to delivery completion, we gain a wide range of knowledge, which leads to confidence that can be applied to future designs, making our work even more rewarding.
I joined a well-known local company in Itoigawa 15 years ago, with a manufacturing plant that designs and produces made-to-order products. This was intriguing, as it didn't manufacture standard catalog products, so I applied for a position in the design department. A few years after joining the company, I spent two months traveling to a customer site to adjust the operation of products delivered to the customer, and also worked outside of Itoigawa as needed, providing operational support to customer factories. These business trips are essential for our company to meet our customers' needs. Currently, we employ Chinese and female designers as full-time employees, and we are seeking motivated young talent regardless of nationality or gender.
In design work, you cannot create drawings by yourself. There will inevitably be times when you get stuck, so you need advice from people in charge or colleagues in your group. At those times, it is part of your daily routine to frankly explain the problem to those in your group and receive appropriate advice. When necessary, we appropriately gather opinions from manufacturing departments other than design and reflect them in the design responsively. There are no barriers to communication between departments within the company, and information is exchanged frequently, creating an atmosphere where it does not take long to solve problems. I do not feel any stress from communicating within the company.
