General operational management of the casting team (sales liaison, cost estimation, budget management, procurement, production management and quality control) |
Until now, I have worked in sales, but now I am involved in production management, including sales, on the casting team. It is a job that leaves a tangible result, and I do not actually get my hands dirty to create things, but through production management, I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I am able to deliver a product after repeatedly improving and revising mistakes and problems on the manufacturing floor with my teammates.
Furthermore, even in modern times, casting manufacturing methods still involve hand molding and grinding each piece, as the shapes are streamlined and complex, making it impossible to mold and finish them without manual labor. There are many things in the world that can only be manufactured by casting, and I believe that this is a valuable technique that will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.
I believe that job satisfaction is something you find as you work.
Although we live in a world where IT is becoming more and more prevalent, manufacturing is profound and the shape (results) are visible, so although it is analog, I think you can still experience the fun and sense of accomplishment. Good luck with your job search.
